Overview
In 1996, brash L.A. detective John Spartan and maniac killer Simon Phoenix are both sentenced to decades in a cryogenic prison as punishment for a rescue mission gone wrong. When Phoenix escapes 36 years later to wreak havoc on the future, Spartan is awakened to capture his nemesis the old-fashioned way.

But seriously, a good action movie is a comedy. I don't understand how I've never seen him before
Pleasant humor and satire, which, oh horror, is getting closer to reality.
The shells and virtual sex are in place, as the only two elements that have not disappeared from memory in more than 20 years.
There are two charismatic men and the always beautiful Sandy B.
The film is very well preserved and looks great in 2025.
The only thing is that the soundtrack is rotten, except, of course, the most popular radio in San Angeles, where advertising jingles are played 24/7.
It's probably already possible to write down the classics of the genre.
Sandra Bullock is a beauty)
The impressions are probably not the same now. But I liked it anyway.
It was fun to catch both the poster with "Lethal Weapon" and the sudden "Rambo" from Simon (I don't know, maybe it's a purely Russian performance from dubbing or a joke from Vladimir Vikhrov), and the other frenzy with a rat burger or virtual sex and the sudden ability to embroider from a veteran policeman with a reputation for Hancock destruction of everything around. In general, it was nice to watch this movie again at a more conscious age.
There is so much more I want to say, of course, but I will end with words about the social structure of the film. In addition to the specific reference in the name of Sandra Bullock's heroine, Lenin Huxley, there is an even more accurate, though almost unnoticed, moment with an indirect quote from Stanislav Lem and his Return from the Stars, where society has deprived itself of violence in any form by reprogramming.
PS to be honest, there's only one thing that pisses me off - why constantly call people by their full names? I've already memorized this guy's name... Shit, I forgot.
PS "John Spartan, you have been fined 1 credit for violating the moral foundations of society in the form of swearing"
PS S.S. Hooray, now there's something to go to the bathroom with...
Something like "Pick up with two, wipe with one".
Or just dig out the feces.
It's just my favorite childhood movie.
(Oh well...one of the most)
