Playing on the fears of claustrophobia, the film does well to combine with a dynamic trailer, an interesting idea and an intriguing story. The Canadian guys were clearly able to surprise everyone and create a whole universe in the future. And the first part is still the reference one. There are also pleasant actors who are personalities and every skill that will come in handy during the tests. And the traps shine with originality. It is clear that the idea pays for everything. For the evening, this is the perfect horror with a claim to something more. I recommend it!

@Paul_Wolf: I'm not a fan of old movies at all, but this one was able to catch on and I really liked it at the time. I was delighted to have two more parts

I saw the first two parts on TV about half a lifetime ago - my favorites, sometimes I review them. The third one can also be viewed, but it is much worse. Now I've found out that some other Japanese remake has appeared, in 2021. I should take a look, but judging by the rating, this is most likely another unsuccessful remake.

I remember getting high from this movie about 15 years ago. Very cool and head and shoulders above all his followers.

In my opinion, the film is quite interesting, it looks interesting and intense, but the ending is different. It feels like a schoolboy was finishing a script. How did Niga get out unnoticed with such injuries?How did they not hear him? How did he even get on the bridge if the rooms were moving? Then a black hole appeared in the script, just to finish the film in a special way. I've watched it 4 times all the time, and the aftertaste is always the same. I won't say it's shit. You can and should watch, but the ending spoils everything.

One of the best fantasy thrillers with one of the most memorable opening scenes. For me, it immediately sets the mood for the whole movie. Interesting characters, but such, oddly enough, that I don't feel sorry for anyone...

I liked the movie. I don't know why someone doesn't feel sorry for anyone there, I feel sorry for all the human beings. Only the policeman had any obvious "sins". I don't see any particular problems with the architect's infantilism, the doctor's suspicion and paranoia, the scientist's detachment, and the guy with the disorder is completely harmless. No one pisses me off, except for one, and everyone was capable of normal communication, except for this nasty cop.
In general, nothing is known about the first one who was cut.
It's not a bad puzzle, despite the fact that there have been quite a few such films. A good example of the genre

I came across some interesting facts.

For example, the fact that the characters in the film are named after prisons. And they not only wear them, but also reflect their features. Kazan is an unorganized Kazan prison (Tatarstan). Quentin is a prison in San Quentin, California, known for its brutality. Holloway is the Holloway Prison for women (London). Rennes is a prison in Rennes, France. Alderson is a prison in Alderson, West Virginia, where isolation is a common punishment. Leaven and Worth is a prison in the city of Leavenworth (Kansas) with a precise set of rules down to the smallest detail.||

More Vincenzo Natali made a "bonus" short film showing the Cube outside. However, he vowed never to reveal what was outside the Cube, and later destroyed the short film.

Also in one of the early drafts of the script, the characters find unnatural alien food. The idea had to be abandoned because it gave too clear an idea of the creators of the Cube.

There was a request for such a movie at one time, and even then it was quite interesting and unusual. Now, for viewing for the first time, I would not recommend it =)
