The story is well-known, much has been written and filmed about it, and the creators of Yellowjackets were inspired, but this film focuses not so much on survival as on its moral and psychological aspect, especially cannibalism to save lives. It's hard to look at these scenes, even though they're not explicit. I do not know how people's psyche was preserved there, I think that it was not very зберіг I read a little about the future life of the survivors, so one of them also ran for president of Uruguay, that is, everything is fine with them, at least in public.
The film was shot superovoj, separately I want to note the camerawork - as a visual, I am delighted, this atmosphere of snow-capped mountains and complete hopelessness is conveyed perfectly. And the scene when the helicopters arrived for the guys 😭 💔
Of course, if it was strangers and not a rugby team, everything would be completely different, because? We play sports and create communities 💪 🏼
The accident is shown in the first 20 minutes, wow. but a bit superhero-like. Accents on bright details, etc.
I won't review it, it's hard. And I advise you to look at it.
Were they supposed to be running in the snow there, or what if they didn't sit and lie down? After how long would they have no strength left? Not to mention that the waste of energy needs to be restored with food, which they do not have. It doesn't matter that there is wind and snow outside, they, initially 27 people, are inside a cramped room, this is enough to more or less warm the air, not to a comfortable temperature, of course, but quite acceptable. The limbs will freeze, but this is tolerable, given that they have a lot of rags for shelter and they can rub them together as shown in the film.
Naturally, this does not mean that they did not suffer from the cold there, but the cold was clearly not their biggest problem, which confirms the fact that, if I am not mistaken, no one died of frostbite there.
Since I had heard before watching, but had not studied this topic deeply, I was shocked and amazed. Survive after a plane crash, after two avalanches, terrible weather conditions and last two months (!!!) - it's just unimaginable.
I heard that not everyone greeted the guys as "surviving heroes", but they were also strongly condemned for cannibalism on their part. (They should have been in such conditions themselves before judging, yeah.)
In my opinion, the film is worthy of a statue!
The terrible tragedy of the plane crash and the triumph of humanity over the frosty hell (brr, the author took cover with a warm blanket). I recommend it for viewing.
P.S. Uruguayan Adam Driver is top.
And so p.s. I cried the whole movie.🥹
The film is nominated for the Best Foreign Film. If he doesn't get it, I'll pay for it.
What if there were survivors in other crashes? It's like it's scary to die.
on seriously?!
yes, I'm almost sure that all the "smart guys ", they themselves would not have lasted so long in those conditions!
The movie is good!
I also hope that he will receive an Oscar.;
And expecting a disaster - it looked incredibly tense
And when they thought they had been noticed, and I was sitting there and I knew that they would still need to eat human flesh..
It's creepy! The cannibalism scenes themselves are done properly, they can cause disgust!
Well, the scene on the river is just incredible!
And when they write the names and ages of the dead, there are no words
I didn't know anything at all about such a case in my life. The resilience of the survivors is surprising.
By the way, who first learned about this tragedy- I advise you to watch the TV series Hornets. The plot is based on this story
