I watched this movie in my tender childhood...
my parents, of course, in a good purely human way, but still, I think it was this film that shaped my attitude to drugs. I'd rather please myself with passions like collecting minerals and so on, and then languish like a pig over them, than like this.
In fact, I'm sure that if I review the film, I'll see it completely differently, and that's probably why I don't want to review it)

@Citokos: honestly, I agree with the speaker. all these conversations with teenagers that drugs are evil, bad, etc. - it's all a mess, it's all ignored. in general, teenagers perceive information more through feature films, rather than through documentaries that are shoved into schools

The film may be heavy, but it directs thoughts. using the example of the film, we are shown what happens if you choose the wrong path to your goals. it encourages you to weigh your decisions, otherwise there is a great chance to get into such a jungle, from which it is difficult to get out later. I recommend this film to those who have stopped understanding why they live.
plus, you can highlight just great camerawork, shoot in a special beautiful and original way. A strong movie, at least for me

At first, I didn't like the film: The moments when the screen is divided into two scenes are terrible. The characters do not cling, rather they repel. But that's the whole aesthetic of the film. Gradually, it accelerates, and when the mother starts taking medication, the film becomes fascinating. The musical accompaniment is very good. The work of the operator is interesting.

The very theme of the film is heavy. Giggles, hahanks, what else would stick out. Further, the degree is higher, the substances are heavier. Summer, autumn, winter. And now the heroes are at the very bottom, where the gloomy devils live.

One of the most beloved films of all time. I watched it many times as a child, and still remembered the main musical theme by heart. The soundtrack is simply a masterpiece, transforming and becoming more intense as the inevitable end approaches, overgrown with new instruments and sounds that perfectly match what is happening on the screen. The directing and cinematography are excellent. The acting is on the level. The plot is top. You can, of course, find fault with the fact that actors with model looks (I saw comments saying that this does not happen in life, and in general it is a cheap trick so that the audience immediately gets into them), and what is very strangely coincidental that both GG and his mother both got hooked on drugs, and independently of each other, but I absolutely do not want to do this, because it all works. Even knowing the ending and understanding what's going to happen, you still look at the characters when they're still doing well and hope for the best. Well, the denouement is powerful and unadorned. This time I looked at the background of a terribly aggravated anxiety disorder and the most severe withdrawal syndrome due to a change of treatment, and damn, I felt like I was in the shoes of heroes who just wanted to take another damn dose so that all this hell would at least temporarily end, without thinking about what would happen next. Anxiety after watching, by the way, worsened even more (but it was worth it)

@Nataffka: I didn't have any problems with anxiety as a child, if anything. I developed an anxiety-depressive disorder about a decade and a half after watching it, against the background of chronic health problems, insomnia, constant stress, inability to live a full life due to, again, health problems and an extremely vague future. And the fact that I watched it as a child is just great, in many ways thanks to this film I did not stop, unlike a number of acquaintances, neighbors and a huge number of people around.

I watched it several times in different periods of my life, but I didn't have a strong impression. The music is beautiful and plays a huge role in the film and sets the right tone for it, the situation itself is too real to be surprised.
