The story of a man who defied death has gone through dozens of reimaginings — from grim black-and-white horrors to gothic sequels and philosophical tragedies. In honor of the release of the new Guillermo del Toro's version of Frankenstein, we recall the best screen adaptations, each of which in its own way revitalized the monster and its creator.

Frankenstein's monster was notably eaten off from the first part, the cheeks were noticeably rounded) After all, the original image was more frightening and creepy.

@Barnaby: Boris Karloff protested that in "Bride of Frankenstein" his character starts talking (in the first "Frankenstein" the monster could not speak), but Wale did not listen to his demands. Because the monster had to talk, Karloff had to leave the denture in his mouth, which he removed in the first film, so in Bride of Frankenstein, the monster's cheeks don't look so hollow.
