the 7 best TV shows of all time
7. "Mad Men"
Drama | 4.09 out of 5 on MyShows | 7 seasons | 2007—2015
The show is set in the '60s. The series follows the everyday life of Sterling Cooper, an advertising agency located on Madison Avenue in New York City. Don Draper, the creative director, thanks to his sophistication and talent, remains in a position coveted by many. From the outside, he looks like a happy father and husband to a beautiful, former model. However, Don is not at all who he says he is.
"What I want to say after watching - the series is pure gold. The characters are all structural and not cardboard. Don in general is one of the most complex and interesting series characters I've seen. A round of applause for Hamm, that's really cool. It's also eerily satisfying to see really well-described women. It's kind of miraculous. They're all different, but they all have the same problem - damn sexism all around. I always feel bad for all of them like I literally feel bad for myself, because the 60s were a hell of a time and women are still facing these same issues," — scarcelyinside.
"God, how can we do without our most beloved characters now, huh? For more than five years I have on my phone ringing exactly the opening credits of the series, for seven years I have been watching with delight one of the best series on television - a series not only about an interesting time and field of activity, but also about amazingly lively and intelligent characters with stories of sorrows and joys," — Inattuabile.
"Watched the series so long ago that it is more relevant today than it was 7 years ago. A beautiful masterpiece, from start to finish and completed. Everything is very logical, beautiful and clear. Had a great pleasure to watch the characters of 7 seasons," — januarism.

6. "The Sopranos"
Drama, Crime | 4.59 out of 5 on MyShows | 6 Seasons | 1999—2007
North Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano seeks help from a therapist after he faints at a family picnic. He doesn't want to appear weak, so he doesn't tell the rest of the mob that he's in therapy. But to visit a specialist Tony still needs to, because his life is full of stress: teenage daughter brings his wife to hysteria, uncle Junior is jealous of Tony and constantly puts sticks in the wheels, and FBI agents are stepping on his heels.
"The Sopranos Clan, without a doubt, one of the best series in the history of television, which must be seen by everyone who at least a little counts himself among the fans of good series. This picture is not about the Italian mafiosi, as is commonly thought among people who have not watched the CW, but first of all about relationships. About relationships in the family, about relationships in the team, about eternal questions, betrayal and moral choices," — Djimmy.
"An unusual ending to the series. Kept me in suspense until the end. The characters were repulsive all to the last, but how ingenious to play to make them evoke these emotions. The plot is unpredictable. You think that here, the outcome is clear, but no. Everything turns out in a completely unpredictable line. Just like in life," — tugarin19.
"The Sopranos is very psychological and deep, especially in terms of character development, just a textbook on character development. The sheer number of small issues and situations that arise during the course of the story affect all the characters in one way or another, even the most trifling thing," — Ctixia.

5. "Twin Peaks"
Detective, Crime, Supernatural | 4.3 out of 5 on MyShows | 3 seasons | 1990—2017
FBI agent Dale Cooper arrives in the small town of Twin Peaks to investigate the shocking murder of Laura Palmer, a promising high school student. But Cooper soon realizes that something strange is going on in the town and Twin Peaks is a creepy and mystical place, not the nice and quiet town it seemed to be.
"Twin Peaks doesn't need to be understood, it's just something to dive into and let go through - surrealism, that's what it is. At first delved into this arthouse hard, realized that the series is not simple and should be watched in a different way. Original, very interesting, keeps in suspense. The most mystical mysticism)," — iamalexbob.
"Overall - the series is the bomb! And everything that Lynch shoots - it's a mixture of genius with wildness, it's more than just a movie. It's a turning of all thoughts, consciousness, it's depth and it's meaning! 10000 lynches out of 10!" — anna_trofymenko.
"It's an inexpressible feeling to return to Twin Peaks after so many years. The first time I watched as a teenager and could not appreciate the charm of this masterpiece, and now every minute of what is happening on the screen brings me, as a movie buff, genuine pleasure," — id20652938.

4. "The X-Files"
Drama, crime, sci-fi | 4.37 out of 5 on MyShows | 11 seasons | 1993—2018
Two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, work in the X-Files, a division that specializes in unusual unsolved crimes. Mulder truly believes in extraterrestrial life and all things supernatural, but Scully is a skeptic who sees all cases in terms of science and always tries to explain things with logic.
"It's actually amazing how good the show is even now. I mean, you can see that it was filmed 22 years ago, but that rather gives it a certain charm, since they don't make movies like this nowadays. One of the greatest openings, atmospheric picture and music, brilliant cast, and, of course, the mystical background," — Sergl89.
"'The X-Files' is the best sci-fi series. Excellent plot, good camerawork, quality editing and soundtrack - everything is here. The series is exciting from the first seconds and do not let go until the final credits. Now this level is very rare," — wonderfucker.
"The series was made with full commitment, with the soul, as they say, and producers, and writers, and directors, and of course, the cast. So lovingly, accurately and voluminously written out characters, a complete hit in the image of David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and minor characters. A huge labor of all the creators, thank them for this," — _Linda_.

3. "Breaking Bad"
Drama, crime, thriller | 4.56 out of 5 on MyShows | 5 seasons | 2008—2019
Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He doesn't want to leave his wife and disabled son without money, but there's no way to make much legally in such a short period of time. So White, along with former student Jesse Pinkman, takes on the production and distribution of methamphetamine.
"What I've always loved about this story is that everything is clear and well thought out from the get-go. Every episode, every frame: everything came together and ended the way it was supposed to. When I watched the last episodes, I got goosebumps. So many emotions and experiences that sometimes it even became hard to breathe from the tension. That's how you should end a series! Learn!" — Simlath.
"The series is a true masterpiece that everyone must watch. It is the strongest show on television and there is no equal. There are many good TV series, but unfortunately they can't outdo 'Breaking Bad'," — serzh.
"What happens if you take a drug addict and a genius chemist and combine them into a team? That's right - the best brewers of quality meth in the state. Best series in the last 10 years! Terrific plot, captivating acting, amazing denouement. Five seasons show how a person's personality changes. If anyone is still pondering what to watch, this is what you've been looking for!" — g240maks.

2. "The Simpsons"
Comedy | 4.51 out of 5 on MyShows | 35 seasons | 1989— ...
A show whose influence on pop culture cannot be underestimated. "The Simpsons" is the longest-running animated series in history, airing continuously since 1989 and not about to end anytime soon.
The series is about a family from Springfield: Homer and Marge, and their children: diligent student Lisa, obnoxious teenager Bart and baby Maggie, who can't talk yet. Something unbelievable happens to them all the time, but together they can handle anything.
"The Simpsons is already watched by more than one generation of viewers and is still relevant, well done creators, let's look further," — UlNECULNEC.
"Already finishing watching the 32nd season and decided to stop by to leave a review of the first episode. Very cool cartoon, almost all the series are funny. Very much like that the topics are touched on serious. Heroes, of course, in the first season unusual look," — galya_zyukina.

1. "The Wire"
Crime, Drama | 4.43 out of 5 on MyShows | 5 Seasons | 2002—2008
The show is set in Baltimore, where a group of police officers are trying to gather enough evidence to bring an investigation to trial and put members of a drug trafficking ring behind bars. To do this, the cops organize surveillance of the gangsters using listening devices and hidden video cameras.
"Great, after watching it there is a feeling like I lived in Baltimore. At the finale of each season caught myself thinking that if this was the end of the series, I would be satisfied. Rare occurrence. Often episodes feel like nothing is happening, but the details are. DETAILS. And how then everything intertwines and it becomes clear why certain people and events were shown. The series is not about the main characters, they are not here. In the main role of the city itself. Watch it for sure," — otro678.
"I knew about The Wire a long time ago, but then there was no point in watching it, I was still young. Only now I had a chance to check it out in the original. The strongest series, one of the pioneers of the Golden Age of television, low bow to the creators and all who participated in the filming, you can see at a glance, people approached the case with love and meticulousness to every detail and detail. Bravo!" — bon-zo.
"This is a brilliant work of art. So skillful in showing city life from all sides: the police, the yards, the school, the newspaper, the laborers, the politicians, and how one thing influences and spills over into another. How children grow up to be drug dealers and murderers, taking the places of adults who have died or gone to jail; how nothing truly honest and right can last long because it gets broken in the maelstrom of the system. There's a lot of emotion involved. I want to open the first episode right now and start rewatching," — SpringSpark.

But it's funny that in this list there are not only classic TV series, but also animated series, and muppets, and sketch shows, and even talk shows.
Well, someone in the publication does not like comedies, since all these classic Frazier, Cheers, Friends and Seinfeld are not at the top, or even at the bottom... and the Trash is almost in the top ten. Well, this is me talking about the whole hundred and the specific place of the TV show in it.
Dexter at 90, Mindhunter at 66 and Hannibal at 38... yes, they're all good, but they should be somewhere around 75th place all three.
Friends at 56? What's Barry doing there anyway? And in a Better World? And this is above friends. But the Community? The community, with all the skepticism, should not be in the hundreds at all, but they are 32 ... or Freaks and Geeks, yes they are good, but not in 24th place, despite the fact that they go right behind the Office and the Delay in development, which quite take their places. I have already written about Trash, but for Parks and Recreation Areas, I am glad that they were set so high. At least Seinfeld and Cheers are in the second ten.
Is the underground empire that low? 75th place? But at the same time, Americans are a typical passer-by and 42nd place and Keepers. What are the keepers doing in the 14th place? The movie is great, but the series is for once, and even then with a creak.
At the same time, their criteria are as follows - The show must have completed its run or been on the air for at least 10 years and had a significant impact on television in general... But who chose? And here's the answer-Our voting pool consisted of entertainment-focused employees as well as critics from across the industry. In other words, it is the opinion of three or four dozen employees of this publication, although the site itself belongs to Rupert Murdoch and his News Corporation. In general, the list is good, but twenty positions are very, very contradictory and it is obvious that they are crammed because of the editorial staff's taste preferences.
At the same time, I am surprised that I did not see the Newsroom, Black Mirror, Castle, Masters of Sex, Rome, Two and a Half Men, Downton Abbey and House of Cards on the list. Well, I saw Fargo and the Big Bang Theory, Narco and Dr. House.

I haven't watched this series yet, but I know a few that it has a very cult status in the states, a lot of awards and always gets on the lists of the best TV shows, so it's still been pushed low. Obviously, they don't argue about tastes, they shout about tastes. And all these tops are purely tasteful. If now the users of myshous will make up the top, then it is clear that it does not coincide with this.
