Watch the trailer for the drama "The Tattooist of Auschwitz", based on the novel by Heather Morris
Sky has revealed the full trailer for the mini-series "The Tattooist of Auschwitz", based on Heather Morris' novel of the same name, which in turn was inspired by a true story.
The project will tell the story of Lale and Gita Sokolov — Jews who managed to survive the Holocaust. In 1942, Lale finds himself in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, where he has to work as a tattoo artist, stamping identification numbers on the hands of prisoners. Here he meets Gita, and the two young Jews fall in love at first sight.
Sixty years later, the recently widowed Lale meets an aspiring writer, Heather Morris, and finds the courage to tell her his story.
The elderly Lale was played by Harvey Keitel from "Reservoir Dogs" and the young one was played by Jonah Hauer-King ("The Little Mermaid"). The role of Gita was played by Anna Próchniak ("Behawiorysta") and Heather Morris was played by Melanie Lynskey ("Yellowjackets").
All six episodes of the series will be released on May 2.
