@shtanga: I also thought that they would give him a chance to return to the series... But he will somehow get out and be on the bridge in the next episode!
Negan is completely out of his mind. But I like the way they show him - those who talk to him are always in the light, and we have never seen Negan's face during the season. You can mark in the calendar the longest dialogue between Rick and Daryl in recent seasons, like, 5. And Rick's injury was right very predictable if you know that the actor wanted to leave. This is "be safe", the fact that Rick's ideas are thrown in our face, no matter what kind of world he exists in, even mentioning Negan as a martyr is all one to one, only Rick will become a martyr sooner because he did not lead a horde of zombies to the cities, or to the bridge that I put so much effort into building (see, SEE? The bridge! A bridge between nations! between settlements! The beginning of the future! honestly, well, the audience is not so stupid to throw it in their face like that, it's clear what they wanted to convey to us), but sacrificed his life in order to save them. To be honest, I don't know which death I would prefer for Rick. from zombies - yes, in battle, yes, but not helpless, on the rebar. although I think that they will make something epic out of this in the next series, like Rick, who carries a stone block on himself and simultaneously fights off zombies. epic.
The horse took revenge on Rick for another horse from the first episode of this season. I think Ann (Jadis) will rescue Rick with the help of a helicopter, but we won't see him again (for a couple of seasons for sure). Well, or he will die after all.
Yeah.. I thought the death of the guy who saved the horse was ridiculous. But this is beyond idiocy. Rick, who danced among walkers for 9 seasons, tore apart enemies with his teeth, will die falling from a horse... Couldn't he have come up with a more epic ending? Although what am I talking about, Carl was leaked by the bite of one infirm walker, what's next to talk about
God, people all want epic deaths for big characters! But why should they die to the sound of fanfare and tragic music? They are ordinary people and their death may be the result of their stupidities and absurdities. Let's remember Stalin, the evil genius and murderer of millions! And how did you finish? Like a dog poisoned by his companions!

Fuck, no matter what they say, but after his death, I will not watch this series ... It has slipped for me for a long time, I could not quit, because I have been watching it for 7 years and finally there is a reason to stop. Although there are interesting characters left, they are already infuriating, and I can't imagine walkers without the "immortal" Rick Grimes.
I feel a heaviness in my soul after watching the series... It was interesting how they would remove Rick from the series... If he dies like this now, it will be a natural death. No one is really immune from this.
I want to admit that any change in this series affects me as a viewer. Even take this new bottle opener, it's not bad, but it feels like it's not native)) Or when Rick announces what happened in the last episode... I can't imagine what the series will be like without Rick.
Mdaaa well, what about Walkers and without stupid cliffhangers. Well, judging by what we've seen in past seasons, he'll get out of this situation, only to die again later.
I'll have to say goodbye to Rick. But it's better to have interesting Walkers without Rick than the tedious it's not clear what's with Rick. I liked the way his death was presented. A little stubborn heroism and an accident with a horse, no forewords, if there were no more spoilers, it would be perfect. The scene itself refers to the first episode - Rick on a horse and walkers from all sides. It's a good idea to loop it all around. I suppose we should add a helicopter here somehow)
I think Michonne will be more interesting after Rick's death. Lately, she had only one function - to listen and support her husband. It's all boring. But he was a very bright character.
No matter how much you whine in the comments, the Walkers have really changed for the better. In recent seasons, the characters in the hands of would-be screenwriters have become plastic soldiers, and now they are coming to life. After a blunt sequence of shootings and conversations, a thought returned to the series. It makes me very happy.
I liked Rick's conversation with Daryl. It's a pity that such conversations (significant for character development) are very rare in the series.
It is a pity that it will not be possible to see the "relationship" of Rick and Negan in the further stages of the development of their characters (here we can rely on the comic).
And personally, I would be very sorry if a character like Rick was killed by an injury sustained after falling from a horse - it's not respectable. A lot of people say that it's a completely normal way out, but I think it's too ridiculous for a character of this level. And a fat plus to this absurdity is given by the scene when, at the end of the series, the camera moves away - and we see the same horse, only calm, it is not afraid, GRAZES and does not run away anywhere. Big deal, extras disguised as zombies. Thanks again, damn it, so much for the authenticity. And how can you believe in what is happening after such far-fetched falls?
By God, it would have been better if a helicopter had picked him up in Ohio. But somehow it seems to me that he will just get to Alexandria to say goodbye to everyone there.
@Philstone: The helicopter version seems very likely to me. Jadis flew away just in time. Besides, after all the spoilers about death, it's not a bad decision to let him live, at least conditionally. Besides, this line connects very well with Rick's departure, it's a sin not to use it.
@A_nna: I agree, but I watched the first minutes of episode 5 (opening minutes) here and I doubt that he will be saved :(there, at the very beginning, a large number of helicopters are flying at him in a hallucination, which strongly hints that they will not save him in this way.
throughout the series, the camera moved up in the scenes, is this not a hint of a helicopter that will come for the mountain rider? Although who am I kidding, they don't have enough time to remove it from the pin.
I'm not ready for the next episode, because a whole era in The Walking Dead will end with Rick Grimes, I really don't want to lose my favorite character... I will hope to the last that Jadis will save him and he will fly away in a helicopter, then return epically next season.
Rick! Well, fuck it! It's stupider than draining a character... One thing is good that he somehow gets to the bridge, judging by the trailer, and maybe disappears with a claim to epicness!
I knew this was the last season for Rick, but for some reason I thought it would happen at the end of the season. The information that we would say goodbye to him so quickly somehow passed me by. By the next episode, I will stock up on handkerchiefs because there will be countless tears and snot. It's a pity that no one will know what happened to Rick, he'll just disappear for everyone. But I think he won't die, the helicopters will save him, and he will return at the very end of the series a la Nina Dobrev in DV.
PS I hope the following story will not be about militant women...
It's been a long time since we've hooked a series of Walkers, but here I couldn't break away. On the stage of Rick and Daryl's dialogue, I held my breath, there was so much pain in it. I really liked Michonne in this episode, her conversation with Negan and their comparison. Thanks for the change of showrunners.
- Nigon, I've come to kill you - Well, don't kill me - So I'll kill you - Well, don't kill me - So I'll kill you - All right, kill it. - So I won't kill you.
So the cunning Nigan avoided execution for the next 5 years. Then they'll get married again, I'm sure.
And Rick is a Prophetic Oleg, death will come from a horse, as if he did not understand it from the pilot.
Damn, in the comments to one and the last episodes of season 8, I wrote that it seemed to me that Debbie Gallagher was sitting on the steps in the background, from shameless) However, I was right, there is a second shot of her in the first minute🤪 I'm sorry that it's not on the case) do not mince the pjlst😊
I'm sorry, but by episode 4 I had lost my temper. Is the glass floor that has to withstand TONS broken?! Seriously?! The horse threw off the rider because he got worried - AND STAYED TO GRAZE NEARBY?! If the horse throws off the rider, he jumps for a while more! Especially if you threw it off because of anxiety! (I am engaged in equestrian tourism) I'm sorry, but I'm increasingly doing facepalm in this series(
At the moment when Daryl couldn't get out of the pit, it flashed through my mind that if they poured it too, then I would definitely stop watching right away. And somehow I can't believe that Rick will die so simply in the middle of the season, he will definitely get out somehow
And I have long wanted to note that, in my opinion, walkers at the beginning of the series were much more dangerous than they are now, because now they often just lie like growling logs
Firstly, how did this group of saviors find out that Oceanside was trying to take revenge on them. And how they decided to kill everyone with one gun. The naive dude underestimated Carol. :)
Secondly, the series ended dramatically. But I don't believe that's how Rick will die. I don't know, it seems to me that his death should be more heroic than that. For the salvation of all mankind, and not just as a snack for zombies.
Well, we've all been through this before. Don't try to fool me, the series, I'll believe in Rick's death only when I see walkers tearing him apart in the frame.
If Rick is removed from the series, I will lose the last interest in watching this series. Negan somehow adds interest to what is happening if you don't take Rick. I can't imagine this series without Rick Grimes.
They rode a motorcycle to the place where Daryl and Rick fell into the pit. Where did the horse come from? Why did the horse kick up only once after seeing the crowds of walkers (no, I understand that I should have dropped Rick, but I want a little more logic)? Why had she been standing quietly and waiting for Rick to sit on her? Why is the horse calmly standing aside after his fall, and not nervous, which would be logical?
Why was the huge pit in the middle of the forest completely empty before Rick and Daryl plopped into it? I don't believe that, well, not a single walker has passed through there during the existence of the pit.
I don't believe in Rick's death. I wouldn't be surprised if Maggie saves him in the next episode. Or Morgan. Or he will suddenly get up and go to finish building the bridge.
I thought Rick would just go off into the sunset.
But he will somehow get out and be on the bridge in the next episode!
You can mark in the calendar the longest dialogue between Rick and Daryl in recent seasons, like, 5.
