Well, what can you say about the first episode? cheerfully, but the cliffhanger is too sharp, I just stumbled. we (who followed the creation of the series from and to) know that the first two episodes came out at once – that's the feeling, as if one episode was divided into two for some reason, the first piece ends abruptly 🤔
Sally is the best mom x3 (nothing new here), Grover is a sweet bead, Percy with a bang (although Walker has a calm face and intonation). graphically, but what can I do :) a bunch of references, after which you sit and think "WHO IS SHE GOING TO GO TO FOR MAYONNAISE?", "IS THIS WHAT I SEE OR YES?"
the girls flew!!!! (Hello to the hunters, I'm sorry to the men)

Percy's mom is very sorry.
The Minotaur seems to have turned out well, but it's a pity that it's in the dark almost all the time.

Actually, I haven't read the books, but I watched the movie once a long time ago, so I have some general idea about the storyline and the characters. But I think that the impression of this will not spoil, so far it is going well.

I've been reading the cycle for a long time, I don't remember much, but I wasn't thrilled with the film. and here everything is very good, the main actors are surprisingly good, the last scene with Percy's mom takes my soul. I like everything so far, I hope it will go on like this

I haven't read a book, so I'm getting to know the universe for the first time. the narration seemed a little ragged, Sally wasn't really revealed, they didn't pay much attention to the screen, let's hope for flashbacks or something like that, otherwise it turns out quite dry. The whole Greek gods theme is cool, I wonder how it will work in the series, overall not bad! Let's look further!

What is it, you can't see anything at night again!)) so I wanted to look at the Minotaur properly, but not in this life, apparently))) except for the night scenes and some special effects, there are no complaints about the first series! I hope that, as in the case of One Piece, due to the involvement of the creator of the original source in the project, a very good series will be released!

You may disagree with me, but I have a bad feeling about the series. Everything is somehow casual, somehow very simplified. Although the films turned the plot inside out, but what powerful scenes there were, how it all clung and felt. I don't know how to describe this feeling. It's as if the series is designed exclusively for children who haven't read books or watched movies. To a new audience, as it were, and not to the fans.

@Shtormcat1: the series added some moments that were not in the movie with Lerman. Let's say the sweets that Sally gave Percy, I remembered these simple moments very well, very often they flashed in the plot, there was also a moment in the book when the first thing Percy did was move into Hermes' house, but in the book he didn't understand whose son he was for a while, and then everything happened very quickly. Also, before he got into the camp, it was told about Eddie, the most unpleasant type, and here he was just a schmuck in front of the TV, although he had been spoiling the lives of Sally and Percy for a long time.
And I really hope that his relationship with water will also be shown as in the books, because with his power it will be epic to watch the series.

I feel warmly about the book series, but I read it once in my early childhood. I'm skeptical about the film, but something about it still caught on. The series seemed weak to me after the released episodes. Everything is somehow fast, crumpled even for children.

The beginning is quite interesting! The actors are well-chosen. It's almost like in the movie, it's interesting. I really liked the fact that Percy's stepfather was made a good-natured man, and in no way in the film a sinister man, but still unemployed.. Mom Percy❤️ Only I am interested in the moment, in the final screensaver Zeus is black.. 😅

@flaxman: Basically, the Gods, especially Zeus, were always depicted as white, not black. I don't remember Zeus being black in any movie. And there were no myths, just like in many encyclopedias, he was white everywhere. With Disney, the fun is clear, tolerance, everything is fine, but all this tolerance is already beginning to cross the boundaries, Snow White, Ariel... Even Anabeth, who was white in the book, became African-American)🙂

I read all the books in one gulp about 10 years ago. The films, although they had some cool scenes, adapted the books terribly. The series was waiting exactly until the announcement of the cast. And when the first posters were released, I almost turned gray. Even omitting the point that Annabeth was made black, which I think is not respect for the original source. (For those who will shout that this is racism - bruh if Annabeth was black in the book, I would have no questions). But the fact that the Persian is BLOND??? Excuse me? Didn't you have enough budget for paint for the poor boy?According to the series: very strangely filmed, a feeling of some awkwardness is created. Actress Sally lacks the warmth inherent in Percy's mom. The way Percy "pushed" Nancy into the fountain is so AWKWARDLY filmed. Who moves like that? The director's work is very strange, the footage is strange. Especially the transitions. What is this fade to black? It looks ridiculous. The conversation with the director is again ridiculous, because of the strange transitions of the frame from actor to actor, the tension of the scene disappears. Music doesn't save you. I'm not impressed with the centaur yet, he doesn't sound wise, and in general, that he's in the scene, that he's not there - no difference. Eddie doesn't look like an abuser, he's more of a pathetic character, which is wildly strange. Talking in the car, on the way to the camp - again, where is the tension? Okay, let's say Percy just doesn't know what's going on, but he should be mad at Grover, because in Percy's eyes, he betrayed him. Sorry, were the maps (with mythical heroes) a preparation? What kind of training? You just showed him the map and said it was a minotaur. Where is this training??? The whole Minotaur chase scene with the car is r u shitting me. They don't look like they're terrified at all. The Waist tree looks like some kind of bush. The first frame should be magical, imho. And they stupidly stayed in the forest and stood chatting, knowing that the Minotaur was out there somewhere? They didn't see that he was dead. WHAT NONSENSE! Why aren't they running as fast as they can???The whole "promise me to protect Percy" scene is, uh, very awkward. No tension. WHY DON'T THEY RUN AWAY🤬

I won't judge the acting much based on the first episode. tk realized in the middle that the actor playing Percy was playing well, that because of the director's disgusting work, all tension and emotionality were lost. Grover's not bad either. It also seems to me that the fight scene with the Minotaur is better written in the book. It looks crazy here, how slowly they walked to the border of Percy Grover's camp. I'm just very confused right now. such a strange series in all(!) parameters ☹️

@dashamrykalo: Yeah, I got the same impression!
I really liked the actor playing Percy. The boy is doing well, he believes it, I want to watch his emotions. In his bewilderment and awkwardness, I see a bookish Percy.
But everything else is so strangely filmed.. It's awkward to look at)))
I understand that the series was made for a children's/teen audience, but such series and films don't have to be cringe-worthy, ahaha

The Percy Jackson universe is my first and forever beloved fandom. I have given 11 years to this love of mine... Ofcors, I was skeptical about the series, because the non-canonical cast, Disney jokes, but in terms of atmosphere, this is exactly what I imagined reading books many years ago

It seems to me that at least this film adaptation is already better than the films (even if judged by one episode), at most we will get a decent series. Time to place bets

The first thing that caught my eye was Gabe. Maybe they wanted to soften his image for the children, I do not know, but Gabe came out much more believable in the films. Here he is like a self-lost freelancer who lives off Sally, no greasy jokes and beer everywhere and always, no disrespect for Sally herself, there is no definite "I was with him to protect you with his smell as the most disgusting smelling person"

He's not repulsive enough

@Natalina_kr: It's just wrong in the movie that he's an adult. According to the books, they are 12 years old in the first part. Since the film has distorted the book plot very much, and here it will be closer to the original, then do not expect the same plot from the film, everything will be different here, but it will be correct from the original source.

@Takumikun: I gave an example of the 2 most successful films with children, kamon, does this knowledge make you a movie fan or what? Why do I need this information? Once again, it is difficult to train child actors, it is difficult with their concentration, there is much more work, they play worse, the viewer is more predisposed to an adult actor (if the role is central), so the choice in favor of at least teenagers is very justified.
Even now, the first 2 parts of Harry Potter are rated by the community below the rest of the Harry Potter films, but in general there are a lot of exceptions, talented children who played very cool, such as Freddie Highmore or Dakota Fanning, but again, this is a big exception.

@luvrok: The viewer is never predisposed to any particular age, what nonsense. It's possible about the difficulty of working with them, but there are a lot of acting schools for children now, including very good ones. Among the films about children that adults adore are the Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Jumanji, Matilda, Ono, Very strange Cases, Children of Spies and more.

And if you also know the psychology of a person, then in general you can completely fuck off from the simple fact that children and cats / dogs cause more sympathy in a person due to small and symmetrical facial features, large eyes and other unique childish features, which means that watching them, the viewer has much more emotions than if watching a 27-year-old man who plays a schoolboy.

Why such young actors were put on is unclear, since the announcement it outrages me. The graphics are excellent, we've done a good job on it, you can see that.
The actors don't piss me off, it's good so far, although I haven't seen the black one yet and the actors haven't revealed themselves to the end, so the opinion may change quickly by the end

So far, I see the plus side is that the actors are really as old as in the book. But the same Logan Lerman is much more interesting and more accurate than getting into the image. Due to the fact that this series of course exposes the hero in a whole series, routine and slow. Let's see how the special effects of the half-blood abilities will be implemented, hades is the same and so on.
P. S.. A certain Steinbeck is listed as a producer... Does anyone know this is a descendant of the great writer J. Steinbeck?

The most disgusting interpretation, Disney needs to be banned from making TV series or find normal directors and directors, because their latest works do not please the eye at all and look very cheap, besides - the cast in this series is the most terrible and plastic. The feeling is that the series is aimed only at children aged 7-14, it is not interesting for an adult audience to watch it, the dialogues are insipid and insanely boring.

It is clear that this is necessary for drama, but why in all such works is the "chosen one" sent to a protected place for training only when they begin to hunt for him in the real world, where they tried to "sort of hide" him. Why can't you just shove him into a cool camp, where he is protected and will immediately be aware of what is happening? :D otherwise, in such situations, someone always suffers, trying to protect a young man who is getting sick of new information from the evil spirits that tracked him down.

I am the person who read all 5 books about the adventures of Percy Jackson in my twenties, and quite recently. By the release of the series, so to speak. And I will be the same scribe who screams: "THE BOOK IS BETTER!!" And my complaint is not even about the choice of the cast of actors, and not even about their acting. There will be people to talk about it for me. I am very "burning" with the alteration of the plot of the book.
It is acceptable when you, as the creator, need to make a movie out of a book: cut out some moments, mount and fasten scenes from the original source, tamp down the plot due to the short timekeeping of the film. But when you have a TV series, why do you need to redo anything? Why change something that works anyway?! And it's okay if your version of a particular scene is better, okay even if it's just as good, but when almost any scene in the series is inferior to the original, you don't freely ask the question: why not just repeat the plot from the book identically. When you distort or modify something, you should not change the meaning of the scene, you should make an equivalent transition! It is necessary to treat the plot in detail, always asking the question: why did the author do it that way. You will fully understand the structure and concept of the work you have filmed, and then knowing for sure that you are not missing anything, changing one moment or another, you redo the scene in your own way! To be honest, due to the fact that this is a Disney film adaptation, mediocrity is felt in many ways. The conveyor of a monopolist company kills the soul of history. It seems to be clear that the work is done and, in general, the thing is watchable, but it feels as if I looked at a secondary product again that does not represent anything interesting. Returning to the reworked plot, I will say that in 4 episodes that I was able to watch, 2 high-quality twists were killed, and a moment of dialogue between Percy and Annabeth from book 4 was added, 4!! Despite the fact that the conversation about Athena and her "relationship with mortals" plays in book 4...

@Brodyaga202: A pretty serious role in the relationship of these two, separating them from each other again. In short! The screenwriter was clearly doing his best, not liking the work, not even having any respect and interest for it. Just by taking facts and key events from the book, changing them in your own way. What made the series even angrier was that it was made for children rather. Although all the books were marked 12+. The series is 6-16 more likely. Personally, I've seen an even more adult plot in the Percy books than in Harry Potter. In general, I do not recommend watching, but I really recommend reading.

Hahaha, Disney again and again a summons...
a black teacher and apparently a white beauty girlfriend were replaced by a dark-skinned one. God...
even the script is not thought out. A small kid who thought he was sick suddenly rushed to kill a minotaur, which is a couple of times bigger than a man, and even much more powerful. Yes, he is really stupid and sick in the head. Mom just burned up in front of my eyes.
Domestic violence was removed - another agenda.
We bet that at least one of the gods will be black. I'll bet you 1 ruble.
Apparently, the series is intended for children who are instilled equality and balance of skin colors in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if an LGBT representative shows up here.
What the fuck are they doing for a remake? The movie is much better...

Does it bother you that there are LGBT people in the original books? And it seems to me to everyone who has read books, it is obvious that books are just written in order to instill equality in children

@_____mermaid___: I don't know anything about books, if that's the case, then fuck it, my mistake. Books are not written to highlight equality. Books are primarily an artistic narrative. Fictions, ideals that cannot exist in real life. + Into the piggy bank of well-read girls who believe in perfect relationships. Yes, there may be, but there are not as many of them as it is explained in the books.

That is, the series may be "intended for children who are instilled with equality", and books "are not written to highlight equality"? Do you even know what you're trying to say?…

@_____mermaid___: The bulk of the hit TV series are based on old books. TV shows are being made here and now according to the trend of equality in the world, well, LGBT
