Several blocks of the city are de-energized, and after half an hour there is already anarchy, the police can not cope and firefighters are handing out free soup and blankets. I probably don't understand something very much about the civilized world. I remember South Park, where a group of survivalists ate Robertson after 20 minutes of fasting. But there's a joke there, and here I even find it difficult to classify.

@id6931682: you know, a few weeks ago I would have absolutely agreed with you, but after I saw with my own eyes how something very similar to the events in the series was happening in my rather (very, in fact) civilized city, given that no one cut off our electricity, I realized that The thing is, it's enough for just a bunch of bastards to start something like this, it's going to be very difficult to stop the riots.

@vauxhall_cross: at one time in the 90s, I happened to live in one of the small towns of Kuzbass. The only lantern and the only working telephone box is right on the building of the local police. It was frankly not a safe place. Robberies, violence, maybe murders (not with me), but I don't remember such mass pogroms. Moreover, I am 100% sure that this place was much more severe than a not-so-small American town.

@id6931682: That's the thing - in a place where robberies and violence are commonplace, an out-of-the-ordinary situation will hardly lead to mass riots than somewhere where everything is orderly and causal. There, like a small spark in a dry field, it will be enough for chaos even to de-energize the area.

in general, there is a very strange feeling in relation to the city. It's scary just to walk down the street there, even during the day, not like at night, when there is no light in half the city. I would have moved from there for sure)

Fire trucks needed to be parked on the street right away, and not to drive people away when they were called, who were invited to warm up.
The fire station has heating from its own generator, why is everyone wearing outerwear? It's not that warm there, but it's already hot and stuffy from so many "guests".

I had a good laugh from this episode, but there were also tense moments.

Kaylee is a great older brother, and he's good at making enemies, too. But he worked great with that thug.

Casey is freaking out again, melting the effects of the blow. It's not good.

Jeff also acted courageously. The police didn't arrive on time, it's scary to think about the consequences of that meeting.
