How. I. Roared.
Why do TV shows so often have characters die who don't deserve it?

and Uther is still an asshole, he broke so many people's lives (to the same dragon) and at the same time, from series to series, he does not stop morally reading about how well he did and blah blah blah. although when he has to resort to magic himself (or to the same art of dragonlords), I am amazed at how all these characters find the strength to forgive and do good deeds when they are treated like dirt.
I'm still waiting for him to accumulate and Arthur will become king of tt

and after 5 minutes he is already crying ....
the directors, screenwriters and others are just mocking us ...
I experienced all the emotions together with Merlin... and I laughed with joy and roared like the last fool ...
I love TV shows that cause such a storm of emotions!

The series contains many touching and powerful moments.
Well, I think everyone was crying over the death of the dragonlord, but I also cried over the conversation between Arthur and Merlin. When Arthur started talking about his friend, I just burst into tears.

I don't understand the Dragon's logic: first he tells Merlin that he must save Arthur's life at all costs and that Merlin himself will become great. But no, when the dragon is free, he tries to kill them several times. Where...Fuck it...Logic?

And yes, the series is very sad and at the same time funny in places. Merlin is very sorry, because as soon as he falls in love with someone, he immediately dies :I was pleased with the development of Arthur and Merlin's relationship

At first, I kept thinking that Merlin would not have a chance to tell his father the truth. But hooray! - at least he found out that he had a son before he died. In general, the whole series is in such a state that one minute you're smiling, and the next you're crying. A very emotional end to the season, the way it should be.
P.S. I was worried about the Dragon incredibly much, I'm happy that Merlin gave him freedom.

@frankiepie_: a very strong series, and the tension is felt, and you can cry and laugh in places. for some reason, I wildly lost at the moment when Merlin spoke like a dragon. and again, all the glory did not go to Merlin, who once again saved Arthur's royal ass.

I always feel so sorry for Merlin, especially when watching this episode. He is unlucky throughout the series: he has to make mistakes, lose dear people and sacrifice everything for the sake of Camelot. As a result, he always stays in the shadows, protecting Arthur, whom he will eventually lose too :((
And Colin Morgan is a wonderful actor, he always does a great job with his roles.

@Flyte: excuse me, but can you have a conscience and not spoiler the end of the series in the comments under the second season? of course, I understand that many people here are reviewing, and "Arthur, whom he will eventually lose too" is not news to them, but can you damn think about those who just got to this series??

"Look, you'll laugh. You will have fun, there will be so much laughter, you will burn out," they said.... And now, for the umpteenth time, I'm crying over how Merlin is losing someone dear to him. First his first love was taken away from him, now his father. And the most terrible thing is how fast it always happens. And how much grief he already had on his shoulders. It's just unrealistically hard to watch.
The series is amazing.

HOW THE HELL DID I CRY
He didn't deserve it...

Uther is still an asshole, he started a war with magic on a whim, and everyone suffers, both people and magicians, and even dragons. It is nothing but magic that saves him. It's incredibly annoying.

Will someone explain to me the logic of Uther in the war against magic?
I understood that he was told by mouth that "someone else's" should be given for his son's life. Or did he think that some blacksmith would die and everything would be okey-dokey?
And his wife died, and now all the magicians, druids, magical creatures, etc. are to blame? But apart from his court physician, of course...

Somehow I involuntarily drew a parallel between Dragonlord and Doctor Who, I don't know why. This is "one of a kind", "they destroyed everything"; and the Dragon is there too
It is a very steep parallel that the Dragonlord and the Dragon understand each other; but such denial and vindictiveness, in fact, were only persuaded by the fact that Gaius remained in Camelot- well, such a weak motivation

I would like the idea that Dad went to this battle to convince the dragon to take revenge.. In the end, Merlin did it himself 💖

For some reason, Merlin's problems are very devalued. I lost my beloved - well, never mind, fuck off to work, and be sure to smile from ear to ear. My father died - everything is normal, we need to go and save people. When will he tell you everything that's going on in his soul and will someone really sympathize with him?

Uther is also a shitty ruler, another would have gone to fight the dragon himself - this one always sends his son, but he sits back.

What an injustice!
Such a touching reunion of father and son, Merlin is so happy and the next moment he sees his father's death. It's horrible. Why can't Merlin just be happy? Why deprive him of everything?

I really liked Merlin's scene with the dragon.

The second time I look, and the second time I don't understand why Merlin is on their side. Why doesn't he tell this Uther - solve your own problems. If you fight against magic, fight for yourself.
And he would have gone home, Eldor is not in Camelot, conjure yourself on the sly
