The Daleks! Still inept, not adapted, but already terrifying. The doctor actually meets with them for the first time, learns about them, which is unusual in principle: he has not yet decided whether the Daleks are bad or not, he is very interested in what is happening on the planet.

Yes, it was the Daleks who turned Doctor Who into what it is now from the originally conceived entertaining history lessons for children. I hope to see a new series someday, where they will be shown as really serious enemies, otherwise it's been a bit bad lately.

God, the Doctor has a freeze-dried food generator in the TARDIS! This is definitely more surprising than the library or pool that was shown in new school. With the TARDIS, you don't need a job or a permanent place of residence. It is no wonder that the Doctor does not sit very much in one place.
