Bart is a daredevil.
Bart has a new idol - Captain Lance Murdock, a daredevil who tried to jump on a motorcycle through a tank filled with great white sharks, electric eels, piranhas, crocodiles, ferocious lions and a drop of blood that angered and drove them crazy. Inspired by Murdock's feat, Bart begins doing dangerous tricks on a skateboard. Soon he decides to conquer the most dangerous place - the Springfield Ravine. Homer tries to dissuade Bart from jumping, but he finds himself in the abyss.

I hoped to the last that Homer would succeed

The moment of falling into the abyss and being rolled out of the ambulance on a gurney, more reminiscent of the style of Family Guy. It was somehow unusual to observe such clowning.
