you can't take your eyes off the main actor in the role of snow, and most of the film you empan You him and just stare)) Lucy is also driving, the actress has a beautiful voice. I remember the moment when at the end of the Games she looks at the camera at the audience, and wrapped in snakes continues to sing. in general, each of her songs has a deep meaning
PS If you love drama, you will definitely appreciate this pair))
Tigris wasn't much in the film, and while I'm not thrilled with the performer/performer of her role, the character played was nice and lively
the atmosphere is well conveyed, the music is beautiful, the plot is fascinating, and the actors convey their characters efficiently. Tom Blythe captured all my attention starting with 1 shot
I definitely advise you to view it in imax
Golden Three Anaken Skywalker, Tom Raddle and Coriolanus Snow 🧎♀️🧎♀️
Do you read thoughts
I don't quite remember the old parts and books anymore.
Maybe then Snow's grandfather Katnis just nobody knows about it😂
But I still didn 't understand why Lucy abruptly threw Snow ? I either missed something. Or a little well caught the essence of what.
I haven 't read this part of the book . So I need an explanatory team 🫣
When Lucy and Corio were in the woods, he blabbed to her about the three dead, and then began to very unconvincingly dodge. The girl realized that he could not be trusted. When they found the weapon in the hut, Lucy Gray literally had to flee because she was the only witness to Coriolanus' crimes and could pose a danger to his emerging bright future.
About the song - we know folk songs, but we are not all relatives)) Lucy (as I understood it) was a nomad and wandered with her songs))
Perhaps those who are watching GI for the first time will not like it, but fans will obviously be interested, I advise 🤗
So I watched the Hunger Games films, then reread the books and the films conveyed everything well. The whole story with Katniss and Pete is my love🫶🏼
Today I watched a new movie and for some reason Lucy didn't come to me at all from the first minutes. I don't know why the actress or the image.
I went to read a book to find out what was not shown and maybe I will review the film from a new side)
despite the fact that you know that the love branch will not end with success, it was still interesting to watch
So, where should I start? The first thing that catches your eye is the visual. It is very pleasant to look at the plans, which in 90% of cases are not recreated on the green. Interesting angles, pleasant color tones, excellent costumes and character images.
Musical accompaniment. Thank God to all that exists that when doing dubbing, they did not voice Lucy Gray's musical numbers, but made a translation in the form of subtitles. Do you remember how awkward it was in TLOU2 from the dubbing performance of Joel's song? The musical numbers are simply amazing and the soundtracks themselves keep in suspense, convey the atmosphere. Just great. The only thing is that many beautiful songs that were posted by Lionsgate playlist on the release date of the film, we do not hear in the film itself, and there are very touching works there!
Timing. Many people write that the film is drawn out, tedious, too stretched, but this is not quite true. Yes, it is long, but it does not let you get bored and looks just organic. It would be much worse if Lionsgate decided to make two parts of the film, as it was with the third part of The Hunger Games. Remember what it was like for you to look at the endless dialogues in Part 1, which dragged on and on without a climax. It turned out that the first film was very dull and dreary, and the second one is already better. Here is the same situation! The film is divided conditionally into three parts (like the book itself): the harvest and everyday life of Corio as a student of the academy, the Hunger Games themselves and his becoming a merotvorets. In general, a full-fledged, eventful picture came out, which does not let you get bored and during which you live the whole range of emotions.
The actors. The cast here is great. You sincerely believe and empathize with all the characters. Tom Blyth plays his role one hundred percent, you can read his emotions and feelings on his face, and it's like you're even reading a book, so he did a good job. At first you empathize with him, and then you see how he changes and you see his nature. Lucy Gray is also wonderful. Rachel Zegler is a talented actress and she sang just wonderful, and her Lucy Gray catches on to the living. Also Seyan Plint performed by Josh River. It was hard with this character, because in the book I absolutely did not like him: impulsive, not thinking about the consequences, naive. Plus, they took such a big actor for his role and he absolutely did not coincide with my ideas about the character, but in the end Seyan turned out wonderful! You believe him, you empathize with him, you see his pain and it just breaks your heart. Viola Davis. Oh, Volumnia Gall in her performance is just gorgeous, but what's to be honest, she's amazing in the book. I liked her game, her dialogues, which were perfectly written (to be honest, I really liked the scene in the lecture hall with the participation of students, Highbottom and Gall, where, to be honest, it seemed that he wanted to hit her in the face from her manic ideas about Games), and the character himself sometimes gets goosebumps, because it does not come out to feel at least some empathy for her. Of course, Davis is a gorgeous actress and there was no doubt that she would be able to convey such a multifaceted image. By the way, it's very nice that her rhyming phrases, which were also in the book, were translated with a rhyme, and not from a fool! Peter Dinklage and his Highbottom Helmet are just gorgeous. Not only was he my favorite character after reading the book, but also an actor for this role got a famous and talented one. It was very pleasant to watch him on the screen and it is interesting to watch how he enjoys more and more, taking it out on Snow for his father at any convenient moment and appearing exactly there and at the time when you can successfully prick Snow on the patient. However, it is possible to understand him in this and realize that he never came to terms with the fact that he became the founder of this mass infanticide. Speaking of actors, it was also nice to look at the Academy students (part-time mentors), as well as their tributes. I was most pleased with Coral performed by Mackenzie Lansing.
But speaking of the minuses, they are here, after all, there are:
1. There was absolutely no book storyline with Clementia, and she, for a moment, was very interesting. Who doesn't know - after the snake bite, Clem began, let's say, to mutate.
2. How could it be possible to cut out such scenes as: when Seyan brought food to the zoo for tributes from Ma, scenes with Seyan's parents, where the guy's relationship with his parents was revealed, and in particular with Ma and her character directly, as well as a scene with Arachne's funeral and a hymn performed by Snow. And that's just what came to mind right now!
3. I understand that the stress in the names is everyone's business, but when I heard the stress in the name of the director, I felt sick: "Highbottom". Let's then "pAnem" name the country.
4. There has always been a problem with showing blood in the Hunger Games, but this is just ridiculous. Arachne's neck was cut open with a bottle and there should be a sea of blood and she should splash in different directions, but there is not a drop!
The film adaptations are just great if you compare it with the book, but I would like to see a little more scenes that were in the book there. If you watch the film in isolation from her book version, then there can be no special claims. An honest score is 4.5, but the heart gives 5 points out of 5 possible!
There were very skeptical expectations about the new prehistory film, I didn't read the book specifically before the tape was released. but. It turned out very well and even interesting. You understand each character, how smoothly the circumstances around you force you to make a choice in which direction to move and how to become in life. I'm going to read a book. The movie is cool.
I must say right away, I haven't read this book specifically, of course I read the original and looked at it all and more than once. But this movie is just above all praise!
I liked everything: the plot, the acting, the selection of characters, the soundtrack, references to the original parts (like, for example, the song of the Jay), the locations (although here it was possible to try with the location of the Games themselves, add more action or something), the chemistry between Coriolanus and Lucy.
If you are thinking of going or not going to the cinema, definitely go! It's worth it.
the reference to Katniss's name was also pleasant. 🌱
Although this is understandable, the film is about Snow for the most part, and not about the games themselves.
I recommend watching it, but it's probably better still in the original, since it seems that a lot of things are missing in the translation in the Russian dubbing.
And gradually it became clear that all his actions could benefit. And the snake metaphor is very appropriate here. It was much more enjoyable to watch the rise of evil in this movie than Lucy's story.
Viola Davis should be singled out separately. Charismatic as a snake. That's what Panem needs.
A great prequel came out. It was interesting to find out why Snow hates the mockingjay so much, why roses, and to look at the mad creator of the talker birds.
But. Nevertheless, through the book, the transformation of the hero, his inner tosses, mean selfish and cynical thoughts are better seen. In the film, it's like he's just a victim of circumstances. The heroine Lucy Gray is generally a cutie, although according to the book she is still a cunning and manipulative woman, no worse than Snow himself.
The movie versions are more light. It is understandable. Such details cannot be conveyed through the film. But I think we managed to get as close to the truth as possible through the film.
After the movie, the book even rose in my eyes. It seems to me that it came out more lyrical and philosophical. The main messages of the story were no longer as obvious as in the main trilogy.
And a lot of things in the book need to be read between the lines, especially the ending. The film simplified and conveyed everything head-on. I do not condemn, otherwise it would be difficult to understand the motives of the characters, then you will not read their thoughts)
Susan Collins was very lucky to have Francis Lawrence. Such a careful and respectful attitude to the original source is not often found. He filmed the entire franchise at the highest level. A perfect example of how a book and a movie can harmoniously combine and even complement each other.
I am so happy that I did not share the haight of many dissatisfied people. The book is a movie, understand. The film conveyed everything it could and did it perfectly. I have isolated all the most important things and correctly distributed them according to the timing. Personally, I was absolutely satisfied. The differences turned out to be only in minor details, as well as a worthy film adaptation of the book.
I am very glad that a lot of the book was filmed and everything is told so well, yes there are flaws, but they are extremely small
The director's production is on top
All the actors did an excellent job
I liked how Panama's life was shown, how much it will change over time, but in district 12, on the contrary, everything will be worse
I'll reconsider it sometime.
I do not know how much this film can be recommended as a separate movie, but the fact that it turned out to be quite at the level of all previous parts is unequivocal!
When watching the original trilogy, when the characters started crying and shaking at the mention of the Hunger Games, it seemed to me that I had missed something. Some kind of backstory, something from books... I didn't empathize with the characters, I didn't understand their pain, although I have a high level of empathy. Here, I felt every emotion, understood the motivation of everyone. Huge delight.
As the devil said from the Devil's Advocate - Vanity is my most favorite of sins.
Ps. Viola Davis is so good at playing downtrodden women.
Peter Dinklage is an amazing actor. His character's pain is felt every second of screen time.
I haven't read the prequel, so it was interesting to watch the birth of the Hunger Games.
There is not yet that scale, luxury and technology, but even then the tributes were also divided into groups, there was cruelty, blood, death and of course Flickerman!)))
Of the cons, for me everything developed somehow painfully rapidly And (sorry fans) too many songs! Their message is clear, I read the text, but they starved me.
In general, I am very glad that this film was released. And I'll probably go read a book, because I'm like a sucker)) GUY, by the way, is one of my favorite trilogies.
I would like to see not the tenth games, but the first ones, the creation of these games. The war that is so much talked about in this universe.
And I didn't like the idea of telling about Snowne at first.
From serious remarks, the first two hours and the last 25 minutes contrast quite sharply and the transition is too abrupt and poorly constructed.
Read the fandom.
Well, the purpose of the games themselves is to separate, not to unite.
The film itself, unexpectedly for me personally, turned out to be wonderful. Better than with Jennifer Lovrence.
To some extent, her appearance with scales on her body would replace the absence of eye-gouging costumes from the first films.
And yet, this scene would be a harbinger of the mutations that Tigris would expose himself to by turning into a tigress.
If they starved in the districts and lived so badly, as shown, then why the hell does this gypsy hippie Grey have a wardrobe like Tigress in her best years, and makeup like a celebrity of the Kardashian family?
PS: How can I watch the Hunger Games about Jay if President Snow is now your crush?😂😂😂
The film was divided into three parts (there could have been two full-fledged films, but the creators probably did not want to delay, respect for this). What struck me most was the "growth" or, rather, the fatal changes of the years.
It's amazing how they made a film starring a white blue-eyed blond man in the prime of life, as if from Olympia Riefenstahl. everything is according to the testament of Hitler/Goebbels, well, he is a future villain. so it's understandable.
offtop jokes
Dinklage (135 cm) is voiced by Sergey Chikhachev (cyber village) 180 height 100 kg weight. kukumber epta😁
actress Athena Strates plays Persephone Price. Athena plays Persephone (goddess of the dead)
Lucy is voiced by Moryana Anttonen-Shestakova. Moryana is the goddess of the sea/the dead.
and Hunter Schafer literally means Hunter Shepherd. The huntress is playing Tigris.
When I first saw Hunter a long time ago, I thought she was an interesting girl. and when I found out that it was an ex-boyfriend😱
The dress looked completely crazy, considering the realities they were in. The actress is too well-groomed, looks like a model from the cover of a magazine, which is completely unrealistic and looks stupid. Especially singing during the harvest? What for?
The role of Snow's sister turned out to be completely useless, completely did not solve anything in the plot. As in general, the whole storyline of his family has not been revealed at all. When I saw the participants, I thought that Netflix was doing it. And let's go armless, eyeless, with Down syndrome, black, white, Chinese, Latino and gay people were very much missed. I don't mind the variety, but it looks so strained. And how funny it is when among them all, quite ordinary people, the main character looks like from the cover of a magazine in a bright dress. I love the very first film for how much what is happening is really perceived, how well the main idea and metaphor that the author laid down are read.
For me, this is 2.5-3 out of 5. You can watch it, but not necessarily.
There are many wonderful moments in the picture: for example, queers and the disabled (I noticed only when I watched it again) the actors play so well and are so laconically integrated into the aesthetics that you don't notice it and it's wonderful.
I was also pleased with the scenery, visual effects, makeup, even the creepy scenes of the murder of tributes were well and plausibly shot (I turned away and could not watch these moments), costumes, a soundtrack in the form of some kind of folk jazz.
But it seemed to me that everything happened too quickly, as if the story was being told in a hurry. The bitter aftertaste is generally of good film quality.
I enjoyed the show...
I wish those who decide to watch "happy games..."
About the song - we know folk songs, but we are not all relatives)) Lucy (as I understood it) was a nomad and wandered with her songs))
Still, it was interesting to look at what Snow was like in his youth and why he became what he became..
If he marries, he will choose a woman who will not be able to touch his heart. Even more likely someone he would hate so that she would not be able to manipulate him like Lucy Gray. No jealousy, no weakness.
The book is wonderful, it was read in one breath. The film also came out great, although some moments were not shown, and some were completely changed.
The cast is simply gorgeous. I haven't read the book, but I think it conveyed very well how Snow became violent. I felt very sorry for him ☹️
The relationship between Lucy and Snow was missing, as if something was missing.
Overall, the film is very good, 5 stars
as for me, it is much better than the last parts of the GI
But!
After such a dynamic second part, which, in general, could have ended the film, we are still waiting for almost a whole hour, which is clearly losing pace..
Well, the moment when Lucy named roots Katniss is forever in my top of mediocre references. Snow immediately began to make a face, the melody also emphasized this.. It looks really funny...
and so, for me, the best film in the series after the iVP
