none of the characters arouse sympathy (hmm, should I?), and therefore watching a movie is more like not living and empathizing, but just getting to know the material.
perhaps the only one I really remember is Joe Pesci's character, the rest are too typical or something.
P.S. For a long time I could not understand some of the nuances of the characters' behavior, until it dawned on me that in the first half of the film, 30-year-old Liotta and 50-year-old!!!! Pawns are played by young guys in their twenties. Facepalm. This is Scorsese's joke, wandering from movie to movie, I'll never understand. Does he think that no one is paying attention?
