An indescribably beautiful movie essay. For a long time I resisted the persuasions to watch it because of the reviews of cruelty I had heard about. But there is no cruelty here. And those who see it - you see absolutely the wrong movie.

Mastered more than an hour, since when is such game considered art? An adequate person cannot admire this, only if he is not a sadistic sociopath.

I watched it quite a while ago. I remember that at the very beginning, for some reason, it seemed to me that this was a black comedy, I don't know. Then it didn't seem so to me anymore, maybe because of the voice acting, I won't remember for sure. There were violent scenes. There is no desire to reconsider. After watching it, there was a feeling of terrible darkness in the soul, but in general the film is interesting, especially the ending.

Lars' handwriting, of course, is unique. To make a smooth film without action, but which will hold throughout is art. Violence and brutality are more impressive than frightening, as if it's all appropriate within the framework of this film.
I started watching without knowing what to expect, so I was definitely satisfied.
The film is not for everyone, it is unlikely that it can even be advised, it will be taken for a psychopath ....
And for fans of this, of course, it is something unique in its kind.

The film was shot too well, so the hand did not rise to put less than 4 stars, BUT it is very peculiar, not for everyone. I liked it at first, but the finale somehow confused and tired me. And so the long film became completely delayed, my interest was lost.

Therefore, probably not 5 stars. But in general, good, extraordinary.

I love Trier. It was shot interestingly. The actor is super, the visual is on the level.
I understand that not for everyone. But I like films of this genre. Such unusual, controversial ones.

apart from von Trier's personality and creativity, this is a rather pretentious, boring and insanely long film about a maniac.
if you look at it taking into account the personality of the director, then yes, it gets a little better. Yes, this is the autobiography of the artist. "to say what I do. and do it in simple language that even a dumbass can understand, right, silly?". Yes, it's probably art. It's like a black square. painted by Malevich precisely at that time, it has some artistic value. Apart from personality and time, it's just a black square.
Is it a good movie? No. and only some big trier fans should watch it. the story itself is nothing.
