HBO has shared a trailer for the second season of "The Gilded Age"
HBO has unveiled the full trailer for the second season of the historical series "The Gilded Age", which promises more drama, intrigue and forbidden love. The second part of the show, which consists of eight episodes, will premiere on October 29.
The action of "The Gilded Age" unfolds in 1882. Young Marian Brooke after the death of her father moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York to live with her rich aunts — Agnes van Rijn and Ada Brooke. Eventually, the girl becomes embroiled in a war between one of her aunts and her incredibly wealthy neighbors — ruthless railroad tycoon George Russell and his ambitious wife Bertha. But will Marian, finding herself in a new world on the cusp of the 20th century, follow the established rules of society or will she forge her own path?
The second season, consisting of eight episodes, begins on Easter morning 1883, when Bertha Russell learns that her application for a place in the lodge of the Academy of Music has been rejected. At the same time, George confronts the union at the Pittsburgh steel mill he owns, and Marian continues to find a place for herself in the world by secretly teaching at a girls' school.
"Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes is responsible for the project's creation and script, and Michael Engler ("30 Rock" and "Sex and the City") is producing.
