HBO has postponed the shooting of the third season of the series "Euphoria". According to representatives of the channel, Sam Levinson, the creator of the project, is still working on the script of the continuation. At the same time, the premiere date of the new series has not changed: as previously reported, the third season of the show should be released in 2025.
"HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities", — the channel said in a statement.
The creators of "Euphoria" had to release a statement due to recent rumors that the shooting of the third season of the series was canceled: it was reported that HBO was unable to coordinate the schedule of the project's key actors due to their high demand.
However, if Deadline's sources are to be believed, HBO and Sam Levinson have not set a specific start date for filming and plan to return to the set in the next few months. The publication's sources also say that the writers discussed the possibility of releasing a movie instead of a third season of the series, but changed their minds and shifted their focus to working on the new season.
The series "Euphoria" tells about high school students and their relationship with drugs, parents, sex and mental illness. Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Colman Domingo play the lead roles in the project.
