The "Game of Thrones" spin-off about Corlys Velaryon's travels will be released as an animated series

HBO is currently working on three animated series based on the universe.
A still from "House of the Dragon"

Writer George P. P. Martin, author of the fantasy cycle "A Song of Ice and Fire", shared news about animated projects on the universe of "Game of Thrones". HBO was originally developing four animated spin-offs of the series, but eventually the development of two of them was postponed.

Nevertheless, HBO is now working on three animated series on the universe. The fact that "9 Voyages" — a show about the travels of Corlys Velaryon — decided to release as an animated series, rather than a game series, as previously reported. Martin attributed this to budgetary constraints:

"Budgetary constraints would likely have made a live-action version prohibitively expensive, what with half the show taking place at sea, and the necessity of creating a different port every week, from Driftmark to Lys to the Basilisk Isles to Volantis to Qarth to… well, on and on and on. There’s a whole world out there. And we have a lot better chance of showing it all with animation".

Martin did not reveal what other projects HBO has in development.

Well, the main thing is that with the change of format they do not start to hack and make a blunder

On the one hand, it is logical. On the other hand, nothing but Han's phrase of our Solo "I have a bad feeling about this" does not come. In any case, there will be something in the anime style, as Netflix likes to do, developing its franchises.

Of course, I understand everything, but WHEN WILL THE WINDS OF WINTER COME OUT, MARTIN?!

It's a cry of despair. I no longer hope that he will finish the cycle, in fact..

It feels like they filmed the finale of Game of Thrones and old man George wanted to spit on the books

@kenobi: I haven't been waiting for a long time. The writer released an unfinished product to the market, managed to make good money on it, continues to make money on some side minor weak branches, alas, he turned out to be such a person (.

@kenobi: I think it's useless to wait for the sequel..It's hard to write a finale for such a cycle that will suit at least more than half of the fandom. It's easier to leave it on the back burner until the box plays with it :)

@xanax2003: And I suspect that we've already seen Martin's version of the ending - actually in the series! XD But many people didn't like it, and now the author doesn't know what to do.

I am madly in love with this whole universe. But it scares me that they can slide down. The idea can be great and even a script for five. But then, somewhere it goes wrong and that's it.…

It seems interesting to see, but it seems not so much, of course I would like to look at it not in the form of animation, but let's not make a guess, maybe something good will turn out

I really love the IP universe, but I love it in a game format. Most of the time, I don't like drawing, despite the plot, and this greatly spoils the impression. It's scary that using animation, the quality can drop.
