Disney+ has closed the series "American Born Chinese" starring Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan in the lead roles. The project, based on the comic book of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, ran for one season.

The eight-episode fantasy action film launched on May 24 and was warmly received by critics and viewers alike, with the project's rating on Rotten Tomatoes at 94% among critics and 82% among viewers.

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, the series failed to find an audience and Disney+ was left dissatisfied with the number of viewers. The show's producers said they would try to find the project a new home by selling it to other streaming services.

The series tells the story of an ordinary high school student Ben, whose life changes when a new student comes to his school. Because of him, Ben finds himself drawn into a war between ancient Chinese gods.

in general, I was really waiting for this series, but I saw how much it failed and did not dare to watch it, perhaps it was a matter of banal marketing
