Catherine O'Hara will appear in the second season of the series "The Last of Us"
Catherine O'Hara, known for her roles in "Home Alone" and "Schitt's Creek", has joined the cast of the second season of the series "The Last of Us". HBO has yet to reveal exactly who the actress will play.
O'Hara joins Kaitlyn Dever, who will play the role of Abby, as well as Isabela Merced and Young Mazino, who will play Dina and Jesse, respectively. Deadline speculates that several more big name actors will be joining the HBO project in the near future: after the show's first season received seven nominations in the guest actor category at the Emmy Awards, episodic roles in the series have become incredibly sought after.
The action of the series "The Last of Us" develops 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization. In the story, smuggler Joel is hired to take Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of the quarantine zone. What starts out as an easy job soon turns into a difficult and heartbreaking journey, during which Joel and Ellie have to learn to trust each other.
Filming on the show's second season will begin in the first half of February, with a premiere date set for 2025.
