Overview
Chihaya is a lighthearted tomboy, who's not especially good at anything in particular. Her dream has always been for her sister (an aspiring model) to become the number one beauty of Japan, or perhaps of the world. But then one day she meets someone who tells her that a dream is something that should concern only herself—and something she has to work hard for as well.
At the same time, Chihaya discovers a passion for the old Japanese game hyakunin isshu, also called "karuta".

Bright Sneezing again, for the second season in a row, made me happy, the episodes flew by in moments and time didn't feel at all. I only had time to skip the opening and ending to admire the beauty in the picture, in the sound, in the plot. I liked that they started the second season with the introduction of a new character, a novice girl who has absolutely no idea what Karuta is and why she is needed, helps the viewer remember, or those who turned on the second season on TV, unaware of the first, to find out everything that is necessary for further viewing. In general, I am amazed by the elaboration of the characters in Chihai, there are hundreds of people here, and each of them is drawn, each is given an individuality (there are no gray men or human masses in the background). This crowding gives the anime a sense of realism, as if everything is really happening. And the main thing is not even that you can choose your favorite, but that they all really intersect, and are important for the plot, which is so multifaceted.
At first glance, almost all 24 episodes (16 was again a compilation) We are watching the summer championship, the entire journey of Chihaya's team, as well as the personal paths of individual players, mostly from Tokyo schools. But against the background of this championship, hundreds of personalities with their passions and fears are revealed to us (as I have already said). And most importantly, Karuta is blooming in front of us. I like that they not only knock out cards with poems by poets from the annals of Japanese heritage, but also discuss and depict. Each poem looks like a painting, beautiful and amazing, sensual and thoughtful. They are perfect. And not only are the first unique syllables important for knocking out the card before the opponent, but the end of the verse is also important – soothing and completing the picture.
In general, I want to praise the "Chihaya Game" for a very long time. For example, a pleasant shojo atmosphere, excellent gentle "brown" graphics, very cheerful characters, an "instructive" component, and of course a favorite theme for all Japanese.: "It doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing, the main thing is that it would be fun! After all, it's fun that makes us happy!" And this anime really made me happy. I'm waiting for the second season.
Uiiii
Karuta with her beautiful motives came back into my life again :3
I'm really looking forward to the sequel, I hope it won't be in 6 years. 😱
