Overview
At Grace Field House, life couldn't be better for the orphans! Though they have no parents, together with the other kids and a kind "Mama" who cares for them, they form one big, happy family. No child is ever overlooked, especially since they are all adopted by the age of 12. Their daily lives involve rigorous tests, but afterwards, they are allowed to play outside.
There is only one rule they must obey: do not leave the orphanage. But one day, two top-scoring orphans, Emma and Norman, venture past the gate and unearth the harrowing secret behind their entire existence. Utilizing their quick-wittedness, the children must work together to somehow change their predetermined fate.

In general, the season turned out to be crumpled, several interesting characters and plot moves were cut out. You stop worrying about the characters, because every time they will be saved by a piano in the bushes (or a "demon from the car", sorry for the stupid pun). Yes, the plot of the manga sinned with this after the children escaped from the orphanage, but because of the sprawl of the plot, it did not feel so much.
Compared to the intense, creepy, extremely atmospheric first season, the sequel looks weak. It is especially sad that Ray has lost his character and personality. In the first season, he was a very interesting, tragic, ambiguous character, here he is singing along with Emma, whose idealism was sometimes annoying (as if she read the minds of the creators of the anime and knew in advance that everything would be fine with them!). Again, the manga had these flaws, but it's safe to say that the anime didn't fix them.
Of course, I'm glad for the children that they managed to escape into the human world, I just wish the path to this was more difficult and intriguing. It was very easy for them to escape from the demon world compared to escaping from the orphanage. The first season raised a very high bar, which the second, IMHO, did not reach.
The series is very strong and emotional. I don't want to believe that Norman was murdered. And the expression on Emma's face in the last frame? And this nasty mother's conversations...
are the strongest episode for me so far.
