@vindis: Probably tanned by the huge neon cross in the ward.

I love dancing at the end of episodes.

Oh, that was so cool. The scene with the cardinals and the pope's monologue, the whole interaction between Pius XIII and John Paul III, and the final speech looked divine. And the final carrying is like a big quintessence of everything that Pius and the Pope in general are loved for in the Vatican. It was well shot. I'm very happy for Angelo, he deserves the title, and the final joke with the child perfectly complements the whole picture of rebellious Dads.
Sorrentino is good.

"You remind me of my favorite actor, John Malkovich." Heh)) I was also pleased with the jokes about Megan. Voyello had deceived Sir John badly. It's still interesting to find out what happened to his brother. It's a pity for Esther, but this guy is new to her, he's kind of weird, I don't like his character at all. Well, 1 vote for Lenny is a good moment, it's hardly someone's joke.

In this situation, the new pope can be compared to an actor who replaced the previous, "canonical" performer of the role. It was excruciatingly awkward watching his dialogue with Manson, a small incident in Venice during a meeting with fans of Pius XIII. It is doubly painful to see that Brannox himself feels out of place. In his papal vestments, he no longer seems as fragile as he seemed in his aesthetic robes, but the impression of a certain instability and fragility still remains.
The guy Esther contacted is kind of murky, all his rantings about an "act of mercy" and so on are just disgusting. Although Esther herself is unpleasant to me as a character - at first she was parasitic on her close acquaintance with Pius XIII, now, having found herself in a difficult situation, she took on a new acquaintance... However, who took whom into circulation is still a big question.
The overall impression of the episode is the total loneliness of everyone. The whimsical sex games of Sofia and her husband, the secret trysts of Gutierrez and his lover... There is no warmth or genuine intimacy in this relationship. Just emptiness and detachment, self-isolation.
The comment turned out to be somewhat pessimistic, although in fact I more than just like the series, I really admire it. So multifaceted and wise, ironic and self-mocking. And yes, the finale with dancing is fire! :D
