He admitted that it wasn't very cool to ruin their marriage, so you could immediately admit that it was all pheromones, and Kelly wasn't to blame. But he said "maybe," which suggests that Kelly had deliberately cheated, but Derulio wanted to give them a chance without lying directly. I haven't seen anything so creaky in a long time.

First, Darulio destroyed their marriage, in fact "raping" the wife of the main character (without letting her understand what happened, forcing her to blame herself), destroyed the career of the main character. And now he's back, deliberately shaking hands with everyone, again abusing the main character's ex-wife, and then the main character himself. Tin as it is.

Some kind of rapist with sleeping pills, who is quietly released at the end without consequences.

@xexsus: the further I go, the more pleased I am with this series, because despite the spirit of fun and the general goofiness of the team and the plots, each episode can be viewed from a different angle and it will become exactly that creep. I don't know if these are completely weak scenarios that simply "successfully" allow you to raise complex ethical issues, or if the creators consciously present moral dilemmas with the sauce of a stupid comedy. Because the same thing happened with the rescue from the alien zoo, when they left all the other prisoners in cages, and with the sex change of the child, and with the killer doctor in the previous series, and with the krill, where they killed everyone except the children (although this is still a psychological trauma for a child to see this).
And here, indeed, if you think about it, the pheromones of this Derulio work flawlessly, since even the heterosexual captain was attracted to him, and the fact that people under his influence are in love with him at this moment and enjoy the process does not negate the fact that this happens regardless of their real desire. For such situations, special laws need to be developed, and in the Orville universe, for some reason, everything exists according to the laws of a non-selfish humanity.

@xexsus: I understood that the first time it wasn't about pheromones. Kelly had told Alara that in the past she had only thought about a broken marriage, and now she decided that Darulio was her soul mate. She wasn't crazy then, Darulio just gave her an excuse.

If you think about it properly, how is it that there is a race in the Union about which such an important detail is unknown that once a year they have such a "heat" that all other races (regardless of differences in physiology) move - that's where the biggest logical hole is.

Btv, the detail could be quite well known to scientists, while others, due to rare contact with the race, simply did not consider it necessary to find out everything about this very race.

I would like to note separately that I really like the way the alien makeup is made in the series. Rob Lowe does not shine with latex at all and his bluish skin does not give off layers of plaster, this lover of riding in an elevator to music with his leperd shell on his head, pale purple navarians with bone processes on his face - all this, although not supernaturally, is sound and very stylish. Despite the whole budget of the show, it is expressed mainly only in the simplicity of the graphics (although even the guitar player did not look so bad).

Может, расхожее выражение от предков осталось. У нас сейчас тоже много такого есть. "Поднять трубку", например: хотя телефон - это уже давно не трубка, да и для ответа ничего поднимать не надо, просто кнопку нажать. Мы даже не задумываемся о том, сколько такого смыслового балласта за собой тащим. Просто потому, что привыкли. Вот и у них "выпивка за мой счёт" может быть просто проявлением вежливости.

Офигеть я теоретическую базу под пародийный сериал подвёл, конечно :)
