Boy Erased

Nicole Kidman played the mother of the main character amazingly. This character makes you feel warm.

It's a good film about the difficulties of accepting oneself and how society pays attention to it. Strangely enough, the picture is based on real events, which gives the film a more thrill after watching. The problem raised in the film is more relevant than ever in our time, but today LGBT society is treated better than in the 80s. The actors play at a level, sometimes they overplay, but given the situation and the fact that they are teenagers, it looks organic in places. Strangely enough, there is almost no music in the film, a couple of popular tracks are playing and that's it. The church's interference in people's personalities is shown perfectly, I believe that everything was really like that, although I am personally not familiar with such cases, unfortunately. The title, however, does not correspond to the ending of the film, but perhaps I did not understand something.

I was surprised that this was not an invented plot , but a real story . I didn't know there were such institutions...
a dramatic film, well shot, well played by actors.
I caught myself thinking that I looked like "Prayers for Bobby", although it turned out to be more dramatic there, I was also waiting for a heartwarming story here, but I also liked this calm narration.
I recommend watching it to all those who are against LGBT people and condemn them. Everyone has feelings and they don 't have to conform to generally accepted norms.

Nicole is great, Lucas is incredible, the film is very heavy, in some moments the heart ached painfully.
