What a hard movie, what a hard ending. I roared the last minutes of the movie and then went wild for a couple of days.
And all because human nature is perfectly shown in this film, and if we are threatened with such crap, we will all die. This film differs from various apocalyptic films in that there is no tension here from how people run from an avalanche /wave /acid rain, etc., namely ignorance causes tension - will humanity save the scientific community or will the thirst for power, wealth and selfishness win. Even now, remembering the plot, I want to yell from injustice.

If it was a zombie virus, well, or a comet, we would have already died.

The film starts very cheerfully and ends just great. But the middle is still sagging in terms of tightness. Also, there are too absurd moments, but this is already a problem of the genre. The actors play great, especially Leo, who has already played an ambiguous character for the first time. The musical accompaniment perfectly fits the narrative. It is frustrating that such a film is not being released worldwide.

In my opinion, the film came out too long for such an idea. It was necessary to fit everything in 20-30 minutes, I would not have lost anything. But for some reason, they added all sorts of lines with a presenter, with a shaggy guy, with children. And the satire is kind of light. It's not absurd enough for me to laugh with tears in my eyes, it's not serious enough to take it as a serious drama.

It's a bit tedious, but they ridiculed modern realities significantly👍

I was very reminded of the Russian film with short stories "The Day Before" - it's about how humanity will live a day before the imminent death from an asteroid. In some places it's a cringe, in some places it's not bad. If you like the theme, you can also watch it.

I believe that the point here is not even in corruption, venality, vedomosti, greed, etc., but in the total stupidity of more than a part of the world's population.

DiCaprio is a handsome man. Streep and Blanchett... could have gotten bigger roles if there were such characters at all. Lawrence was pleased, you believe her. That was the end of the advantages of the caste. For the sake of the achievement "we can make an incredibly expensive movie", Chalamet, Grande, Kid Cudi, Evans, Perlman were invited (they would have taken Sendler in his place then, or something), Ewan McGregor and Lev Schreiber. It's simple, we're netflix, we can. Ugh.

According to the plot, I liked the attitude towards scientists and the confrontation between them and business. I don't care about politics, we've already eaten it well together in all countries.
Also the family problems of Leonardo's character. That they really had everything, including cheating on both of them. Of course, the cliche is welcome home and forgiveness. This couple was basically lucky to die. If the disaster hadn't swept them away, these scenes wouldn't have happened. Just like graduate students with a teenager.

But while watching, I was thinking about myself. As does everyone in this case. And I wouldn't change anything. I would have lived where I lived, loved the guy further, planned for the future, would have eaten the same food and worried about documents (residence permit) and health (dm 1 + ckd). Nothing would have changed, no matter what.
To live the last days and hours in stress. But why? Everything's going to end now, it's too late to rush around. Total game over. We all arrived the same way and there is no save point. That's all.
So live your life and see what you like. There's only one life, we're going to die anyway.

Oh, yeah. I join all those who are delayed. Even Interstellar was more dynamic. I appreciate the genre as a whole, but that's not it.
