The Bone Collector

An interesting, intriguing thriller. Although depressing, some of the scenes are a bit heavy.
P.S. To be completely honest, there is, of course, a lot of nonsense in it. But this is exactly the case when their general fascination completely overlaps.

I adored him as a child, and always looked for him afterwards, like a Bone Collector.))

The film was absolutely not impressed. I barely finished watching it. Perhaps it was relevant for its time, now it does not catch on😔

at the beginning of the film, I didn't understand at all what Denzel Washington wanted Jolie to do the work of a criminologist. I really didn't understand what she did that was so special that a professional criminologist couldn't?!
and then, out of nowhere, the feelings that arose between him...🤦‍♀️

there are even banal blunders, such as
in one shot Jolie has tears flowing, in the next - a dry face

The film tries to seem like something more than it is

It's interesting to watch the movie, but there's no oppressive tension like in the movie "seven". It is clear that this is a copycat film and not the worst one. As correctly noted in the comments above, there are a lot of nonsense and holes in the plot, but you can close your eyes to them and not go into much nitpicking. I was thinking about the fact that in the 90s and early 00s the genre of extreme thriller was very popular. There have been many very good films that have become icons of the genre. The way New York is shown in these paintings evokes a feeling of complete immersion in events. In general, my homage to the significant films of this genre.
A little note about the maniac in the movie... Leland Orsen's character is a maniac. At the same time, in the movie "seven" Orsen plays the role of a madman from a "massage parlor" who became an accomplice in one of the murders of the maniac John Doe. In "seven," Orsen played his role superbly.
I would like to pay my respects to the deceased Michael Madson. He was a great actor. A truly significant loss for cinema. RIP

It's a good movie.
It's not a masterpiece, but it's very good for its time.
