Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

And I liked this movie even more than the first one! I don't understand why he was so underestimated. Serious screenwriting is already visible here, the actors are playing more lively.

It is clear that Galactus turned out to be quite ridiculous, but if they had tried to depict him canonically, it would have turned out even more ridiculous, no one knew how to do this before the KVM. Nevertheless, there is a cool Easter egg in the film: the shadow of the canonical Galactus on Saturn.

I really liked the self–irony on the topic of product placement in the dilogy - in the scene where Johnny presents a new form.

Definitely, this sequel came out better than the vague first part, but it looked fun only in that year, which cannot be returned – 2007! When reviewing it, it was pretty boring, even though there is a Silver Surfer here, interesting locations that look good in the Open Matte version of the film, but the script is absolutely lackluster. Therefore, the same 6 dumas out of 10. It falls short of the first and third parts of Spidey with Toby, and even more so to the second.

The second part looks more dynamic, more spectacular, the plot is richer and more complex, there are more jokes and character interactions. It all looks easy and even relatively interesting. but! There are more buts. At the same time, the superhero component is boring and ridiculous for the most part, the jokes are too childish, and the characters' characters and relationships seem to be taken straight from a very stupid romcom (and there are too many of them for a movie comic!). In general, you can take a look, fall in love, become seriously interested, but you can't wait for the sequel.

The film was pleasantly surprised by a more serious approach to the plot compared to the first part, especially impressed by the space scenes and the mysterious image of the Silver Surfer, although in some places the story still seems too naive. The cast as a whole coped with their roles, and the special effects for 2007 look decent, although some moments with Jessica Alba still leave much to be desired.

The sequel came out more serious than the first part (of course, there was no need to bother with the origin and ridiculous nicknames). As for me, the film didn't have enough time (only an hour and a half?) to reveal in more detail the same Surfer, his motivation and inner struggle. As a result, it was as if I was watching the movie on rewind, skipping important dialogues. But despite the minor shoals and the greatly understated power of Galactus, at the moment it is the best adaptation of F4, imho. Although let's be honest, there's not much to choose from.
