Stalker (1979)

The Strugatskys had adventure fiction, Tarkovsky turned out to have a philosophical parable, both works are brilliant in their own way, although they absolutely do not resemble each other. I didn't see a picnic in Stalker, but the film itself is extremely fascinating and incredibly atmospheric, and just like the story, it has a very deep meaning and makes you think about a lot.

A century-old movie! The 20th century is the epitome of this work. A conversation about God, human actions and the state of the soul and nature, harmony with oneself. This is a real challenge to new perspectives on life, when collectivization, violence and ideologies reached the peak of their callousness, we saw such work. The author does not hesitate to refute and ask new questions. When they talk about strength in the world, we hear the guide say that his strength is weakness, and mysticism and a miracle remain here as the same biblical test of faith. There are just a lot of religious teachings and each one has a separate part of a philosophical example in practice. Is there a god? Are we alone in this world? And of course - will we get to the truth? Deservedly, this is one of the best films in the history of mankind.
