I really like how active consent is shown in the series: at the beginning, Conell said before the first sex that they could stop at any time if Marianne wanted, in this series he refused to get in touch with her because she was drunk. at the same time, this is done unobtrusively, an unambiguous plus.
and yes, I agree with the comments above, the final scene is really beautifully staged and filmed.

It's so interesting to notice how culture is being transformed. Finally, men can cry. I think it's for the best.
And the series, like the book, is unusual in that almost nothing action-packed happens in it, but nevertheless it is interesting to watch.

In this situation, only Connell's mother is the most adequate here. I don't see any obvious reason to hide the affair at school. Marianne doesn't act like a weirdo, and for a hermit at school, she's too cute to be ashamed of. She doesn't give a damn about her reputation and the stupid friends of the chosen one. So what is the conflict, why is it so inflated?

Such a “call me by your name” vibe! Italy, summer, bicycles! Perfectly!

What an asshole is Jamie 🤦🏻♀️

The sex scene in this series, however, as in others, is shot insanely beautifully. Fiddling with clothes, close-ups, awkward whispering - all this creates a feeling of real intimacy between the characters, so intimate that it seems as if I'm peeking through the keyhole. Despite the frankness of nudity, the language does not rise to call it eroticism.
